Crossing Christian & Victory Christian Win OK State Titles In Five

The Oklahoma high school volleyball season came to a close just a week and a half ago as four teams won their respective divisions. In three of the four divisions, the title was decided by a five-set showdown, while Christian Heritage rolled to victory in straight sets.

Victory Christian and Crossing Christian each won their program’s first-ever state title match while Edmond Santa Fe and Christian Heritage each have taken an Oklahoma high school state championship.

Class 6A

  • Edmond Santa Fe def. Norman North 3-2, (25-17, 18-25, 25-22, 26-28, 15-10)

In Class 6A, Edmond Santa Fe claimed the title over Norman North in a grueling five-set battle. This is the first state title for Edmond since 2013 and their sixth in championship in program history.

Last year, Norman North was the runner-up at the state tournament, losing to Edmond Memorial in four sets.

Class 5A

  • Victory Christian def. #2 Mount St. Mary 3-2, (25-23, 11-25, 18-25, 25-21, 18-16)

The Class 5A title was won by Victory Christian in a marathon comeback match. The win for Victory Christian marked the first state championship in program history, giving the team’s lone senior, Olivia Stenzel a strong finish to her high school career. This is also the first time that Victory Christian has made it to the state title game since its only other appearance in 2006.

Class 4A

  • Christian Heritage Academy def. Regent Prep 3-0, (25-10, 25-16, 25-13)

Christian Heritage dominated their way to the program’s fourth straight state title in a sweep over Regent Prep. The sweep was a trend for the squad at the state tournament, as the forged their way to the championship by winning in straight sets against all of their opponents.

Class 3A

  • Crossing Christian def. Corn Bible 3-2, (25-19, 25-10, 24-26, 19-25, 15-7)

Crossing Christian got out to an early 2-0 lead in the championship match with Corn Bible making things interesting by forcing a fifth and deciding set to determine the state champion. Crossing Christian found their footing once again to take the final set 15-7 and their first-ever volleyball state title.
