The Czech Republic appointed Andrea Tomatis as head coach of the Czech men’s national beach volleyball team.

“It has always been a dream of mine to be the coach of a national team,” said Tomatis.

Tomatis met with players and members of the Czech Volleyball Federation, including former star Martin Lebl, to finalize the deal. On the day of the meeting, Tomatis carried out his first test as coach that same afternoon.

“We want to follow the latest and most modern coaching trends in Europe and as a result we have decided to work with a foreign-born coach who will bring to our beach volleyball teams his wide knowledge, expertise and professionalism,” said Lebl after appointing Italian-born Tomatis.
