Emily Maglio has been selected to the Canadian National Team. The 6′ 3″ middle was a standout for Hawaii and was selected the Big West Defensive Player of the Week four times and was selected to the all-Big West first team three times. Earlier this year she tallied 30 points, including 27 kills, against Cal Poly. That number for a middle hitter is only second to 3 time Olympian, Heather Bown. Maglio was also named an AVCA All-American and VolleyMob All-America Honorable Mention.
Maglio also contributed to the beach volleyball team for Hawaii. She was named an AVCA All-American in 2016 and 2018. Additionally, she was named the Big West Pair of the Year and was won the AVCA Top Flight award. With her partner, Kai’wi Schucht, Maglio set the single season school record with 35 dual match wins and the school record for consecutive dual match wins with 25.
