Despite not playing at this year’s world championships, Polish player Karl Kłos was congratulated by a fan on the world championship win after a league match with PGE Skra Bełchatów.
Kłos took to Twitter to explain the interaction with the fan.
We left for one league match to Bydgoszcz!” Gas station:
– Mr. Karol, can you take a photo?
– Sure, go ahead!
– Congratulations for the World Championship!
– Thanks, it was hard, but somehow it went.
People have a memory but “
Wyjechaliśmy na 1 mecz ligowy do Bydgoszczy! Stacja benzynowa:
– Panie Karolu można zdjęcie?
– Pewnie, śmiało!

Kłos was not a member of Poland‘s team at this year’s World Championships due to an injury, however competed for them at the 2014 edition of the tournament. Poland managed to win in 2014 with Kłos and then backed it up with a 2018 win without Kłos.
Due to Kłos’ recognizable status in Poland, it can’t be ruled out that the fan was congratulating him for the 2014 win, although it’s easy to assume he was referencing the most recent victory for the national team.
After getting a kick out of the interaction, Kłos has been back to training with PGE Skra Bełchatów.
