Fink, the 2017 NEC Player of the Year, is in the midst of another solid campaign in her final collegiate season, and last week led the Blackbirds to a pair of wins over Fairleigh Dickinson and Sacred Heart. Fink averaged 3.71 kills and 3.14 digs per set while totaling three aces as LIU improved to 9-0 in conference play. The Austrian native posted double-doubles in both contests with 10 kills and 10 digs in a straight-set affair with the Knights on Friday, before registering 16 kills and 12 digs in a five-set thriller with the Pioneers on Saturday. Fink, a two-time NEC Player of the Week, leads the Blackbirds and ranks fifth in the NEC with 3.22 kills per set this season.

Miljacic registered a pair of season-highs in Terrier wins over Sacred Heart and Fairleigh Dickinson over the weekend. The sophomore outside hitter from Belgrade, Serbia recorded 16 kills and 16 digs in a 3-2 victory over a Sacred Heart team that sits in fourth place in the NEC standings. She outdid that performance in Saturday’s win over the Knights with 17 kills and 19 digs in the four-setter. Miljacic finished the weekend with averages of 3.67 kills and 3.89 digs per set.

MOLTEN/NEC WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Gala Galabova, Central Connecticut

Galabova was a defensive machine at the net over the weekend in the pair of Blue Devil road wins over Robert Morris and Saint Francis U. The Bulgarian native registered 14 blocks, good for a 1.56 blocks per set average to help improve Central to 7-2 in NEC play. Galabova, a 6-3 junior, blocked six Colonial attempts on Friday before denying the Red Flash eight times in a five-set win on Saturday. She now leads the Conference with 1.29 blocks per set this season.

MOLTEN/NEC WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Madi Tyus, Saint Francis U
Fr., OH, Plano, TX/Bishop Lynch
Tyus claimed her second NEC Rookie honor in the last three weeks and third overall with solid numbers in a pair of tough five-set losses for the Red Flash. After totaling eight kills and 18 digs in Friday’s setback to Bryant, the Plano, TX product established a pair of career-highs in a valiant effort against Central Connecticut. She posted 21 kills and 25 digs to finish the weekend with per-set averages of 2.9 kills and 4.3 digs. Tyus ranks second in the league in kills per set (3.37) and seventh in digs per set (3.42), while leading the Red Flash in both categories.
