Financial difficulties have tweaked the 2017 FIVB World Tour schedule, as one event has been pushed later in the year and another has been removed from the slate entirely.

The Lucerne, SwitzerlandFIVB World Tour four-star event, which was originally scheduled for May 23-28 has been pushed back to September, which will now make it a part of next year’s World Tour slate.  The men’s and women’s combined event was one of three four-star events scheduled for 2017 alongisde Rio (May 18-21) and Olsztyn, Poland (July 19-23).

Another event, the Pacific Harbour, Fiji, one-star tour stop for men and women, is off the schedule completely. The event was originally to be played back in January but was rescheduled for June 23-24 due to heavy flooding and rain. Now, the event has been cancelled due to lack of funds.

Next up on the FIVB World Tour slate is the May 18-21 four-star event in Rio. It is the seventh event on the tour schedule and first four-star event.
