There will be a lot to expect from the coming 2018 FIVB Beach World Tour season, with four huge major events set to take place that will bring in the best of the best on the beach.
The first major will be held in Fort Lauderdale from February 27-March 4, a sunny United States location that kicks off the Major Series in a fun way. Last season, it was an all-Brazilian showcase in the finals on the men’s and women’s side of the event.
Secondly, the major series will pick back up again in the summer month with a May 29-June 3 stop at the Croatia Major. The last of the five-star events is at the Vienna Major from July 31-August 5.
Finally, the season will come to a close with a strong, star-studded tournament that signifies the end of the World Tour season – the FIVB World Tour Finals. This event will take place from August 14-19 in a TBD location.
It will be a jam-packed beach volleyball season, with nearly double the events from the 2017 season and an increase in monies available for competitors – jumping from $3.3 million to $7 million.
