Florida Takes 11-Match Win Streak, 6-0 SEC Mark to South Carolina

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The No. 11 Florida Gators look to extend their winning streak as the team travels to Columbia, S.C. to face the Gamecocks on Friday at 7 p.m.

Florida currently sits first in the league with an unbeaten 6-0 record, while South Carolina is third with a 5-1 record in league play.

The Gators enter Friday’s match with a 15-3 record overall and are riding an 11-match winning streak.

Florida sits first in the SEC in opponent hitting percentage, limiting squads to a .155 clip. The Gators are also ranked second in both hitting efficiency (.261) and blocks per set (2.63).

UF holds the 55-7 series advantage over the Gamecocks, including a 50-2 record under Mary Wise and a 25-5 record in Columbia, S.C.

The Gators won last season’s matchup, 3-0, in Gainesville, Fla. UF clinched the first set 25-17 and won the second, 25-16. Florida secured the victory with a 25-17 win in the final frame.

Shainah Joseph and Carli Snyder recorded 13 and 10 kills, respectively, while Rachael Kramer added five kills and four blocks. Allie Monserez dished out 18 assists and pitched in six digs.

Florida is looking to go 7-0 in conference play for the 21st time under head coach Mary Wise.
