Diondre Charros, the 2016 Times-Standard boys’ volleyball player of the year, was arrested on Wednesday in connection with a disturbance at a local restaurant, according to southcoasttoday.com.

Charros was one of 5 arrested after officers found 3 hand guns, including a large capacity feeding device, in a 1998 Lexus after the disturbance. Some of the arrested individuals have gang affiliations, according to police, who did not specify which of the 5 that was.

Charros was arrested with a 21-year old, a 20-year old, and an 18-year old, as well as an unidentified 17-year old male juvenile, who was not identified because of his age.

Charros graduated from the Greater New Bedford Vocational Technical School in 2016 and was a captain of the school’s volleyball team.

As a junior and a senior, Charros was named to the Boston Globe’s All-Scholastic Team.
