The Florida State beach volleyball team continues its fall slate this weekend, as it heads to Gulf Shores to take on a handful of familiar opponents on Saturday (Oct. 28).
The Seminoles will take on LSU, Spring Hill College, Georgia State, Stetson and South Carolina in its second preseason tournament of the 2017-18 season, set for all day on Saturday.
Florida State swept its last preseason tournament in Tavares, winning all three brackets. With a few conference rivals in this tournament and with Gulf Shores being the site of the NCAA Tournament again this season, this Saturday will prove to be an important introduction to the 2018 season for the Seminoles.
Florida State holds a 5-0 record against LSU, a 5-1 record against Georgia State and a 10-0 record against South Carolina. The only loss the Seminoles have seen against any team in the Gulf Shores Tournament was a 2-3 loss to Georgia State in 2015. Otherwise, FSU has seen 15 wins in the last two years against the four teams it has seen in competition – Florida State has not yet played Spring Hill College.
Following the Gulf Shores Tournament, the Seminoles will head back to Tavares on November 4th for its final fall event, facing Stetson once again.
