After an unsuccessful run in the Chooks to Go-Philippine Superliga Grand Prix, Generika-Ayala has announced the termination of Francis Vicente.

It is said that there have been a number of candidates already being interviewed to fill Vicente’s position just days following him being fired. The club is expected to make a decision in the coming days as to who will replace Vicente.

Despite the firing, Vicente now has more time to dedicate his time to coaching the University of the East in the UAAP that is set to begin their season on February 4. In addition, he is the head coach of the national team that will see action in the AVC Asian Cup at the end of the year.

During his time in the PSL, Vicente was the head coach to Philips Gold, who lost to Foton in the semifinals of the 2015 Grand Prix. After that season, the squad moved to the Premier Volleyball League where they won two titles. Vicente moved to Generika-Ayala following an absent year from the league.
