Philippine star Michelle Gumabao’s juggling of volleyball with her modeling career has finally paid off, as the youngster finished in the Top 15 of the Miss Globe 2018 Awards this Sunday in Tirana, Albania. She was also awarded the Miss Dream Girl and Miss Social Media acollades, topping the online vote with 30.22% of total votes, showing just how much an online presence Philippine volleyball fans can be on the internet (Gumabao has 371k followers on Instagram).

Gumabao is now set on rejoining Alyssa Valdez at Creamline. The team sports a 6-1 record in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference. Gumabao only played one game with the squad so far before leaving to Albania. She spoke to fans on her personal Instagram page about Miss Globe and her return to the team:

“Going home to my country with this huge smile on my face! I’ve learned a lot being here for 2 weeks! I’ve always known that in life there are wins and there are losses, but God knows what’s best for us ❤️ I trust in Him to take me further. I gave my best and I know it was good enough because I had the whole Philippines believing in me! At the end of the day, it is what it is 🇵🇭 BLUE FOR PEACE 😋 I’m coming home!!! Volleyball, the fight is on! 😂”
