Grand Canyon has landed its third transfer addition of the offseason by bringing on Alyssa Chisholm, a defensive specialist/libero who was previously with Northern Colorado. A junior-to-be in the fall of 2018, Chisholm will have two years left of play. Although the move has yet to be made official, likely due to the end of semesters coming academically and paperwork, Chisholm would be a good bet to be immediately eligible.
A 5’4″ native of Peoria, Arizona, Chisholm came to Northern Colorado after attending Mountain Ridge High School. In her first season with the team she started one match with 19 appearances and 32 sets. This past season in 2017, Chisholm totaled 79 digs (1.84 per set), 12 assists (0.28 per set) and three aces in 43 sets of play.
The loss leaves Northern Colorado, who went 14-16 (7-9, Big Sky) last season, with three returning defensive specialists/liberos on their 2018 roster.
The other two transfers joining Chisholm coming from other schools are setter Molly Feldmeth from Florida International and outside hitter Meme Fletcher from Rutgers.
Grand Canyon is coming off of an 8-18 season in which they went 3-11 playing in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). Chisholm joins two returning defensive specialist/libero in Kobie Dunn and starting libero Emma Ahern, who will be a sophomore and junior respectively in 2018.
