The FIVB World Tour makes a quick return to The Hague in the Netherlands for a three-star event from June 14-18. The tournament is coed, featuring some of the top beach players in the world. The Hague is a $150,000 tournament, with the top team earning $10,000 to split the first-place prize.
In addition to the FIVB World Tour event, the Hague will also host the FIVB World League play, as it brings in the Netherlands, Korea, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. This is the first time that World Tour and World League event have been played in the same play simultaneously. The two events are the first to be played at the newly built, 3,000 seat Sportcampus Zuiderpark, a multifunctional sports and education center.

The Netherlands have already placed three pairs in the main draw as the host country. The men’s duos will be Alexander Brouwer/Robert Meeuwsen, Maarten Van Garderen/Christiaan Varenhorst and Mees Blom/Ruben Penninga. The women for the Dutch already placed in the “money” round of the competition are Sanne Keizer/Madelein Meppelink, Manon Nummerdor-Flier/Marleen Van Iersel and Jolien Sinnema/Joy Stubbe.
The event will mark the seventh time that The Hague will have hosted an FIVB World Tour event, with the last coming at the 2015 FIVB World Championships.
Bruno Schmidt and Alison Cerutti are taking the week off from the international circuit of play, along with Phil Dalhausser and Nick Lucena.
On the women’s side, Kira Walkenhorst and Laura Ludwig will try to redeem themselves after a poor finish at the Moscow event just two weeks ago, while April Ross/Lauren Fendrick will try to keep their winning streak going after their AVP Tour win in New York this past weekend. Summer Ross and Brooke Sweat come back to the World Tour after losing to April Ross/Fendrick in New York and a second place finish to Talita Antunes and Larissa Franca at the Moscow event.
Ramond-Van Iersel/Nummerdor-Flier are looking forward to The Hague event and playing in front of their home crowd.
