Long Beach State holds onto the #1 position in this week’s men’s AVCA Coaches Poll, with Ohio State close behind in second.

With an upset in the MPSF semifinals, Hawaii knocked BYU out of contention for the conference title. The win moves Hawaii up to #3 in the poll with BYU falling to #4. The #5-#11 positions remain unchanged after the last week of play and conference tournaments.

Penn State moves up to #12 from #13 after they won the EIVA conference title. Grand Canyon also moved up one spot to #13 after making to their first ever MIVA finals match – which will be their last, as they are moving into the MPSF for the 2018 season. Loyola-Chicago drops two position to #14 after losing to #11 Ball State in the quarterfinals of the MIVA tournament.

Barton received 10 votes this week, barely out of reach of the top-15 – five votes behind #15 CSUN. The Bulldogs took the Conference Carolina’s Tournament title with a three set victory over Mount Olive.
