Hawaii’s Emily Maglio/Ka’iwi Schucht have earned this week’s AVCA Beach Pair of the Week after helping the Rainbow Wahine to a perfect 5-0 weekend.
The #3 Rainbow Wahine headed out to the Gamecock Challenge in South Carolina where they faced off against UNC Wilmington, FGCU, UAB, Nebraska and #8 South Carolina. Three of the team’s overall matches came in 5-0 sweeps (UNC Wilmington, FGCU and UAB) while they downed the Huskers 4-1 and the Gamecocks 3-2.
For Maglio/Schucht, they had no troubles rolling through their opponents, defeating everyone except for Nebraska’s Kelly Hunter/Lauren Stivrins in straight sets.
