Florida International and Miami announced the cancellation of their weekend MU/FIU Classic, which was to include South Alabama, Auburn, James Madison and Savannah State.

Auburn has in turn picked up a 2 p.m. Saturday contest at Florida State.

The Seminoles (5-1) missed three matches last weekend as the FSU/FAMU Classic was cancelled and postponed their instate rivalry match with Florida from Sept. 12 to Sept. 19.

This is the second straight weekend FIU (1-5) has missed due to the hurricane, as the Coastal Carolina Classic was cancelled last week, eliminating the team’s matches against Ohio State, Coastal Carolina and Notre Dame.

It also marks the second weekend erased for the Hurricanes (6-0), as the team missed the Sonesta Hotel Philadelphia Cherry & White Challenge while Irma was preparing to make landfall. The Miami campus remains closed.
