Katie Staiger Having an All-American Year and Might Not Even Know It

Baylor redshirt junior Katie Staiger is having by far the best year of her collegiate career, recording 407 kills through 21 matches – already exactly 100 more than she had all of last season – at outside hitter.

She ranks 3rd in the country in kills-per-set, and tops in the Big 12 even among powerhouse players like Micaya White at Texas, at a rate of 5.58-per.

After a torn ACL cut her true-freshman season off very early, Staiger has grown into an All-American caliber player for the Baylor Bears, and as the voiceover says at the end of the below video, “she might not even know it.”

Staiger is the defending Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week.

Baylor is 15-6 this season, including 3-2 in the Big 12. They travel to West Virginia on Saturday to defend their 3rd-place position in the Big 12.
