Kelsie Payne of Kansas Awarded Big 12 Player of the Year

Libero of the Year: Cassie Wait, University of Kansas
Setter of the Year: Ainise Havili, University of Kansas
Freshman of the Year: Micaya White, University of Texas
Coach of the Year: Ray Bechard, University of Kansas

Kelsie Payne was named the Big 12 Player of the Year after she helped lead Kansas to their first-ever Big 12 conference title. She was in the top three in kills with an average of 4.07 per set. This is the first time a Jayhawk has ever been named National Player of the Year.

Jayhawk Cassie Wait took the unanimous vote for Libero of the Year, another first for Kansas. She averaged 5.11 digs per set.

Ainise Havili defended her title of Setter of the Year, and is the first setter to win the title more than once since it was created in 2012.

Freshman Longhorn Micaya White, the only person outside the Kansas team to claim a Big Ten award, earned an unanimous vote for her title.
