Krystal Rivers of Alabama Named SEC Player of the Year

Player of the Year: Krystal Rivers, University of Alabama
Libero of the Year: Ashley Dusek, University of Kentucky
Freshman of the Year: Leah Edmond, University of Kentucky
Scholar-Athlete of the Year: Krystal Rivers, University of Alabama
Coach of the Year: Wayne Kreklow, University of Missouri

Krystal Rivers is the first Alabama player ever to be named SEC Player of the Year and she was also delcared the Scholar-Athlete of the Year. She defended her Scholar-Athlete title for the second year in a row.

Ashley Dusek, a junior at Kentucky, took the Libero of the Year title for the second year in a row. She averaged 4.8 digs per set.

Another Wildcat, Leah Edmond, was named the Freshman of the Year. She is just second in kills per set behind Rivers. She totaled 8 Freshman of the Week awards and was the Player of the Week twice.
