ATLANTA – Quin Sutphin of Kennesaw State and FGCU’s Tori Morris earn this week’s ASUN Conference Volleyball awards. After an impressive week offensively and defensively, Sutphin takes home both Player and Defensive Player of the Week award. Morris earns Freshman of the Week after a dominant week on the block for the Eagles.

Supthin earns her first career Player and Defensive Player of the Week award. She played an integral part in KSU’s battle for first place victory over Lipscomb, as she notched 11 kills and 12 blocks. It was the first double-double in KSU history to consist of kills and blocks. Sutphin followed up that performance with a 14 kill and seven block match against North Alabama on Friday night. With 101 total blocks, Sutphin is just the second Owl ever to record 100 blocks in a single-season.

Morris becomes the third FGCU freshman to win Freshman of the Week this season. Last week she recorded 15 total blocks, 2.33 blocks/set and hit .364. In FGCU’s sweep of Jacksonville on Sunday, Morris tied a D-I era FGCU record for block assists with nine. Despite limited playing time this season, Morris averages 1.35 blocks/set, which ranks only behind teammate Daniele Serrano for second in the ASUN.
