After a rough 2016-2017 season, Kioene Padova is bringing in a transfer in opposite Petar Premovic. At 6’6″, Premovic will look to make a difference on the Padova front line.
A 23-year-old opposite from Serbia, Premovic last played for Vojvodina Novi Sad. Prior to his two years with Vojvodina Novi Sad, Premovic also played for Radnicki Kragujevac dating back to 2013 when he was just 19 years old. He participated in the European Cups in 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017 with his clubs as he also was on Team Serbia in the 2015 European Games-Volleyball.
As part of the Serbian League champion Vojvodina Novi Sad, Premovic was named MVP of the Finals in 2016-2017. He was the third best scorer of the league with 449 points with 30 aces and 43 blocks.
Padova finished in 12th of the 14-team Italian league. They won just six of their 26 matches and earned 22 points before losing in the ‘play-out’ round that puts two of the bottom four into the playoff round. They’ll look for a young-budding star in Premovic to assist in a stronger season in 2017-2018.
