La Salle University’s Kim Dy was named the UAAP Press Corps Player of the Week after her performance in the team’s win over Ateneo Lady Eagles.

Dy was the outstanding player on the court in La Salle’s victory over Ateneo with a season-best 21 points on 11 kills, 7 blocks and 3 aces. The Lady Spikers were able to run through Ateneo in a four-set match 3-1, (25-20, 25-17, 24-26, 25-20).

The win for La Salle moves them into second place in the UAAP Season 80 women’s volleyball tournament that is being held at the Mall of Asia Arena. Dy and La Salle have struggled throughout the UAAP Season 80 but the win over Ateneo has given them a confidence boost that could propel them throughout the remainder of the tournament.

Dy was chosen as player of the week over a number of players this week:

  • University of East’s Shaya Adorador and Kath Arado
  • Far Eastern University’s Bernadeth Pons
  • National University’s Jaja Santiago
  • University of the Philippines’ Tots Carlos
