LOOKING AT THE FIELD:

WKU will kick off weekend play with a 12:30 p.m. Friday tilt against ETSU. The Bucs are 9-2 to start the season and are coming off a 4-1 record last weekend in the Duke Invitational, including a four-set victory against the host Blue Devils on Saturday. The last time these teams matched up, the Red and White pulled out a 3-1 victory over ETSU in the Holiday Inn-University Plaza Invitational during the 2017 campaign. ETSU returns eight letterwinners along with two starters coming off of last year’s 19-12 season. WKU leads the all-time series 5-2 over the Bucs.

Friday night, No. 22 Washington State visits The Hill with a hot 7-0 start to the 2018 season. WSU has 10 returning letterwinners and four starters along with its libero from an 18-16 campaign a year ago. This is the first-ever meeting between the two sides.

The final match of the weekend for the Lady Toppers comes against the Northern Illinois Huskies. Another rematch from last year, WKU will look to continue its winning ways against NIU with two victories over the Huskies across the last three seasons. NIU returns with eight letterwinners along with four starters. WKU leads 4-1 in the all-time series against the Huskies.
