GREENSBORO, N.C. – Pitt’s Kayla Lund has been named the first ACC Volleyball Player of the Week for the 2018 season, and Mikaila Dowd of Georgia Tech and Zoe Nunez of Notre Dame were named Co-Freshmen of the Week.
Lund was named Panther Challenge Tournament MVP after leading No. 20 Pitt to an undefeated weekend with three wins, including a victory over No. 24 Cal Poly. The sophomore right side hitter from Pasadena, California, notched two double-doubles and led the team in kills, kills per set and hitting percentage. Lund set a new career high in kills against Cal Poly with 20 and a new high in hitting percentage in a 3-0 win against Butler by posting a .769 clip.

Dowd received Hyatt Regency Invitational All-Tournament Team honors after leading the Yellow Jackets to four wins on the weekend. The rookie outside hitter from Naperville, Illinois, recorded 22 kills in her collegiate debut, a 3-1 victory over Idaho State, and she leads Georgia Tech in kills, kills per set and points.

Nunez earned Golden Dome Invitational All-Tournament Team honors after the Irish went 3-0 on the weekend. The rookie setter from Rockford, Illinois, posted 84 assists, and was second on the team with 22 digs across the three matches.
