Slovakian setter Michal Masny has signed with Polish club Cuprum Lubin for the 2017-2018 season. He will replace Grzegorz Lomacz in that role after Lomacz left to join PGE Skra Belchatow.
Masny has spent a decade in Poland’s PlusLiga and is now on his 6th different team in that period.
Lubin finished 6th in the regular season last year and was swept away 2-0 in the opening round of the PlusLiga playoffs. The 38-year old Masny is a member of the Slovakian National Team and has approximately 200 caps for his national team. He played at the 2015 World League, but wasn’t selected for the 2017 team.
Masny played last season with LOTOS Trefl and was the 9th-rated setter in the PlusLiga.
Masny’s previous stops in PlusLiga:
- 2007-2008 Płomień Sosnowiec
- 2008-2010 ZAKSA Kedzierzyn-Kozle
- 2010-2013 Delecta Bydgoszcz
