The Missouri State beach volleyball program has tacked on a commitment from Tylar Garrett, a class of 2019 recruit from Arizona. A 5’7″ defensive specialist and outside hitter indoors, Garrett will join the Bears’ beach team in 2019 with her first season as a freshman coming in 2020.

Garrett may have had a teammate in her ear in helping influence her commitment decision, as another Missouri State class of 2019 commit – Grace Cook – also attends the same high school and club program as Garrett and previously had announced her intentions with the school.

A junior at Sandra Day O’Connor High School in Phoenix, Arizona, Garrett and Cook were a part of a 31-12 team this past season. Individually for Garrett, she notched 112 digs (1.8 per set) according to her MaxPreps profile.

Club wise, Garrett plays with RPM Sand Volleyball, which has produced countless collegiate commitments and players over the years. That includes Cook as well as Garrett now, along with class of 2018 commit Kylee Davis, who is also set to attend Missouri State for beach volleyball.

Missouri State’s beach volleyball program is in its first year as a program and is off to a 6-6 start in their inaugural 2018 season.
