Molly Haggerty Named Freshman and Player Of the Week for B1G

The Big Ten Conference has named its players of the week for week 4 of the 2016 NCAA Season, and the overall Player and Freshman of the Week awards have both gone to Wisconsin outside hitter Molly Haggerty.

In two top-25 victories for the Badgers, who now rank 3rd in the latest AVCA polls, Haggerty recorded 5.9 kills-per-set and hit .387 overall. That included a 20-kill performance in 5 sets over the Longhorns.

She’s now won Freshman of the Year twice already in her young Wisconsin career.

  • Added three service aces, 24 digs and 11 blocks
  • Led the Golden Gophers to a .308 team hitting percentage
  • Earns her fifth career Setter of the Week award
