2017 FIVB World Tour – Monaco

Monaco will host a one-star tournament, that is run in conjunction with another FIVB World Tour event in The Hague, the Netherlands. This is the first time that the Principality of Monaco will host a World Tour event.

The tournament will feature 16 women’s teams that will be competing for the $10,000 prize and the Prince’s Cup. The award is named after head of state Prince Albert II, who chairs the Monegasque Volleyball Federation.

Teams from Germany, Denmark, Scotland, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Japan, New Zeland, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Serbia, Switzerland, Brazil and the United States are expected to compete in the competition. Germany and Italy each have three pairs in the tournament.

With the event taking place at the same time as another, higher starred event in the World Tour, the tournament will give players who didn’t qualify for The Hague the opportunity to play and each World Tour points to their names.
