Odbojka.me has announced that Montenegrin captain Tatjana Bokan is transferring out of Italy’s Pesaro and has signed a deal in Indonesia with BNI Taplus. The 30-year-old 6’1″ outside hitter will undergo her second season in the Asian country, after playing for Popsivo in 2016. She has also had successful stints in France, Japan, Azerbaijan, and Serbia.

Here are her first words as a member of her new team:

“I received an offer from a Hungarian club for eight months. But Taplus offered me similar financial conditions for a 3-month season, so that is why I chose Indonesia instead. I will be able to stay with my daughter at the same hotel we were back in 2016. I already know the league. My first season there was hard, I wasn’t read for it, didn’t know what I was expecting. Now it is a different situation, I am more experienced and I think there will be no problems. I am looking forward to it.”

Tatjana is coming off a Pesaro season that saw her score at a 2.85 points/set clip on 32.5% hitting and 25% passing, not stellar numbers by any means. However, she has so far bounced back with very good performances at this year’s EuroVolley qualifiers, where she is scoring at a 4.3 points/set clip and 42% hitting. Can she keep this improvement up with her new team?
