Murder-Suicide Gunman in Ohio was a Volleyball Official

50-year old Michael A. Wood was a veteran high school volleyball official in Ohio before killing a man and then turning the gun on himself in New Philadelphia, Ohio on Monday, November 13th.

Wood shot Dr. George Seese in a parking lot outside of the Affinity Medical Center.

Wood was a sports official with the Ohio High School Athletics Association (OHSAA) since 2001, officiating basketball, volleyball, baseball, and softball. That includes volleyball since 2004.
