COLUMBUS, Ohio – Thirteen home matches, including 10 Big Ten contests, highlights the 2018 Ohio State women’s volleyball schedule.

The Buckeyes’ 32-match slate features 13 matches against nine teams that made the 2017 NCAA Tournament. Eight of those teams are Big Ten foes – Wisconsin, Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, Nebraska, Illinois and Minnesota.

“Our preseason schedule gives us a wide range of programs and experiences to prepare our team for the rigors of the Big Ten season,” said head coach Geoff Carlston. “As a whole, nearly half of our schedule will be against teams that were in the NCAA Tournament last year.”

Looking at the Big Ten matches, the Buckeyes welcome Final Four participant Penn State and national champion Nebraska to St. John Arena. The conference slate opens on the road at Wisconsin on Wednesday, Sept. 19 and concludes on Saturday, Nov. 24 at Iowa.

The final season inside St. John Arena begins when Ohio State hosts Albany (Aug. 24), Ohio (Aug. 25) and Texas A&M (Aug. 25). The Buckeyes will spend the following three weeks on the road, starting at Ole Miss Aug. 31-Sept. 1. The squad will challenge Southern Mississippi, the hosting Rebels and Samford. Next up, the team heads to Towson to face Princeton, Missouri and the Tigers Sept. 7-8. The final tournament will take place Sept. 14-15 when the Buckeyes take on Evansville, Tennessee and host Dayton.

The 20-match Big Ten gauntlet features home dates with Penn State, Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Illinois, Northwestern, Maryland, Wisconsin and Minnesota. A season ago, the conference sent eight teams to the NCAA Tournament.
