A star at the University of Oregon at both indoor and beach volleyball, Taylor Agost has just signed her first professional contract, as she was formally announced by Bundesliga’s Ladies in Black from Aachen in the team’s official website as its newest roster addition. Here are her first words as a professional:

“I’m so excited to be part of the Ladies in Black! I’ve never been to Germany, but I have a German background in my family, and I’m really excited to be living in Aachen soon. I’ve heard great things about the city and the team and coach Saskia van Hintum. This is my first professional volleyball season because I have just graduated from the University of Oregon. I am looking forward to the cooperation with the Ladies in Black and to my sportive development under Coach van Hintum. Volleyball has always been my number one passion passion number one – partly because I love being part of a team and creating lifelong bonds with my teammates. For these reasons, I think the Ladies in Black are perfect for me. That’s why I chose Aachen and I can hardly wait to get to know the city and all the people there. “

The team’s staff was likewise very excited with the signing:

“Taylor is a very powerful player with great potential. She was also interested in a few other Bundesliga clubs. Therefore, I am all the more pleased that she has chosen Aachen.” Sports director Sebastian Gutgesell

“I’m proud that Taylor has chosen us as her first professional club. She will enrich us with her attitude, which suits this team perfectly” – Head coach Saskia van Hintum

The 2017 AVCA All-America Honorable Mention led the Oregon Ducks’ offense to the tune of 3.08 kills per set on .288 hitting during the 2017 indoor season. An athletic player, the 6’2″ Agost has had her spike height measured at 10’6″. Her new team finished its 2017-2018 Bundesliga season in 5th place with a 12-8 record before being bounced-off the playoffs in the semis by Stuttgart.
