Penrod & Krogman Earn Mercer’s First ASUN Beach Weekly Honor

Tori Penrod and Emily Krogman retrieve Mercer’s first-ever ASUN Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week Honors, as announced by the league office this Tuesday.

Penrod and Krogman helped the Bears toward a 3-3 record on the week, going 3-1 as a pair in the Gamecock Challenge and 1-1 at the Georgia State Day of Duals. The two claimed wins against top pairings from UAB, Jacksonville, Jacksonville State and No. 10 South Carolina, with their two losses coming against No. 8 Georgia State and No. 13 Grand Canyon. Mercer’s No. 1 seed improved to 7-2 after this week’s performance and helped their squad to a 1-0 record in ASUN play after sweeping JU’s top pair.

The Bears head back down to South Carolina next week, this time to Charleston, to face Tulane and UNC Wilmington in the Charleston Beach Invitational.
