Former University of Houston and Pitt University standout Kadi Kullerkann has signed her first professional contract to join Eurosped TopVolleyball in Twente (TVT) in the Netherlands. Kullerkann, a native of Estonia, played at the University of Houston from 2011-2014, and then transferred to play one season as a graduate student at Pitt.

In her final year at the University of Houston in 2014, Kullerkan set the American Athletic Conference records for Kills (644) and kills per set (5.03) in a season. Those 644 ranked 3rd in the nation last year, and third in the all-time Cougar rankings. She was honored with an AVCA All-American honorable mention that season.

In her graduate year at Pitt in 2015, Kullerkann at one point recorded double-digit kills in 21-straight games, and overall did so in 29 of the Panthers’ 32 games.

She sat out the 2016 season while finishing her MBA in Marketing at Pitt, but will return to the court for the Dutch side.

“It seemed like a perfect opportunity for me to get back to playing,” Kullerkann said. “I feel confident with my skill set thanks to everyone who contributed to my development throughout my collegiate career. I think I will be able to contribute from the start while also further improving my game. I’m absolutely thrilled to start my pro career.”

Her acquisition brings the squad size to 11 players – which the club says is a crucial roster size given their participation in both the National Cup and the CEV Cup.

“Kadi Kullerkann is an experienced player who will give a quality boost to the team, not only during the games but also in training. Furthermore Jan Berendsen now has more options to rotate and give players rest. In short, we dare more than ever this season to look up and hope to find ourselves among the trophies.”

The club recently lost the return trip of their opening home-and-home contest of the CEV Cup, 3-0 against Czech side Olomouc – giving Olomouc a sweep of the two game series.

They now turn their attention to domestic competition, where they’re currently 4th in the Netherlands’ 10-team top league with 24 points. Siledrecht Sport DS 1 leads the league with 32 points.
