5’11” Polish libero Michal Podgorzak has signed to join the Limestone Men’s Volleyball Team in the 2018-2019 season. The 20-year old played last season with KPS Siedlce in the Liga 1 2nd tier of the Polish volleyball league system.
Limestone, a Division II program, returns only 1 libero/defensive specialist from 3 listed on their roster last season: junior Drew Amero. The team’s primary libero last season, German Florian Ruhm, who was a VolleyMob Freshman All-American, no longer appears on the team’s roster.
The team was 8-20 last season, including 5-11 in conference play. That left them 7th out of 9 teams in Conference Carolinas. That was their worst overall record since the program launched in the 2009-2010 academic year.
The team ranked 13th nationally last season out of 42 teams in the NCAA DI/DII joint division in opponents’ hitting percentage, allowing their foes to hit just .222. They were just 6th out of 9 teams in the conference in that category, however.
