Cal Poly was challenged in its opener, but held on for the five-set win and claimed the tournament title with two more victories, both via sweep. The wins move Cal Poly to 5-1 on the season.

  • With the three wins in Logan, Cal Poly has now won four in a row.
  • The Mustangs hit .300 or better in six of their 11 sets, including a weekend-best .467 effort in Set 1 vs. Utah State on Saturday.
  • Cal Poly’s Torrey Van Winden was the star of the show
    • 15 kills, eight digs and a team-high five blocks vs. LMU, while hitting .268 (15-4-41)
    • 9 kills, hitting .389 (9-2-18), while notching a team-leading 13 digs vs. UTRGV
    • 18 kills vs. Utah State, while hitting .552 (18-2-29) and putting up three blocks
  • Building Blocks: Despite going 0-3, Utah State won the block in two of its three matches and tied in the third.
    • vs. UTRGV – both teams managed 5 stuffs
    • vs. LMU – led 12-9
    • vs. Cal Poly – led 7-5
