Estonia’s Saaremaa VC is the winner of the Baltic Champions League, which crowns the best team across the Baltic countries. The Final Four of the tournament was played in Saaremaa, and hosted 3 teams from Estonia and 1 from Latvia. The finals was played in front of almost 2,000 thousand fans.

In the title-deciding match, led by captain Hindrek Pulk, Saaremaa opened up 2-0 lead, but Parnu VC was able to take the game into the tie-break. Finally, the hosts edged their opponent 15-9, thus winning the game 3-2 (25-21, 25-19, 23-25, 20-25, 15-9). Pulk ended the game with a monster record-breaking 33 points and received the award for the Most Valuable Player (Cev.lu):

“I was really well prepared both physically and mentally for the final game. I enjoyed playing so much! Overall it was a team effort, no one gave up.”

This was the second trophy for Saaremaa this season. Previously, they clinched the 2017/18 Estonian Cup. Needless to say, Coach Urmas Tali was very pleased with his team’s efforts:
