San Diego senior setter Kristen Gengenbacher takes home the latest West Coast Conference Player of the Week for her performance in week 10 of the season.

It was just a one-match week for the Toreros this week, but it was a big one as San Diego took to the road in Provo, Utah to take on a top-10 BYU team. San Diego earned the four-set win in redeeming their earlier loss to BYU in San Diego as the Toreros are now tied for the conference lead.

In that match where BYU’s winning streak of 47 against WCC opponents at home was snapped, Gengenbacher totaled 55 assists (13.75 per set), nine digs, five kills and three blocks. She was pivotal in San Diego hitting .299 as she added to her season total of now 11.38 assists per set – the best in the WCC and 17th in the country.

Speaking of being ranked 17th nationally in something, behind Gengenbacher’s performance and the win over BYU, San Diego is now ranked 17th in our latest VolleyMob Top 25 Power Rankings.
