Sta. Lucia Realty has brought in a pair of strong, veteran players to reinforce their squad for the Philippine Superliga Grand Prix that will start next month. The team’s head coach Goerge Pascua has confirmed the addition of Rubie de Leon and Michelle Laborte for next months competition.

Both De Leon and Laborte are some of the best to play in the country during their prime playing years. De Leon was a star setter who helped Foton last year in their quest for the Grand Prix title. With the arrival of Gyzelle Sy from Pocari Sweat, she was forced to seek out another team to compete with. The same thing happened with Laborte, as she was a strong middle blocker just two seasons ago for Cignal.

Laborte was assigned to be the assistant coach but shortly after Pascua took over the coaching role, she found herself with a chance at the court.

Pascua expects that both De Leon and Laborte will take the younger players on the team under their wings, showing them what is necessary to win. Players like Rebecca Rivera (setter) and MJ Philips (middle blocker) could learn a lot from the import of the two players.

Also returning to the team are Dana Anisova, Marisa Field and Kristen Moncks.
