Florida State junior outside hitter Payton Caffrey has been named the 2018 ACC Volleyball Player of the Year and headlines the All-ACC Team.
The top of the standings remains in tact with Pittsburgh on top at 11-1 and Louisville and Florida State right behind at 10-2, but Sunday saw surprise results with both the Panthers and Cardinals falling.
8th-ranked Pittsburgh, Miami, Notre Dame and Duke continued their upticks with ACC victories Saturday night. Clemson, Georgia Tech and RV Louisville also picked up wins to get back on track.

Following this week of action, 8th-ranked Pittsburgh and RV Louisville are share the ACC lead with 8-0 records at the halfway point. The Panthers are perfect on the season at 20-0, while the Cardinals are 15-4.
After a slow start, Louisville went on to take a five-set win over Notre Dame to stay perfect in ACC play at 7-0.
8th-ranked Pittsburgh and Louisville remain at the top of ACC standings with 6-0 marks following week 6 of NCAA volleyball action. Miami, Duke, Syracuse, Clemson and Florida State also registered victories to close out the weekend.
Six of the seven home teams won in ACC play on Friday night with Virginia Tech upsetting Georgia Tech the lone exception. It took five sets, but Virginia held home court vs. Boston College.
It’s a 3-way tie atop ACC standings, as 8th-ranked Pittsburgh, Louisville and Syracuse are all off to 4-0 starts in league play heading into week 7 of the 2018 season. The Panthers are undefeated on the season (15-0), while Louisville is 11-4 and Syracuse is 8-4.
Notre Dame’s Charley Niego has been named ACC Volleyball Player and Freshman of the Week, the first volleyball student-athlete to earn the distinction since at least 2010.
