Playing at home for the first time in nearly three weeks, the Cal Poly volleyball team swept UC Irvine, meanwhile senior Aeryn Owens and junior Morgan Salone each had 13 kills to lead Cal State Northridge to a 3-1 victory over UC Riverside.
13th-ranked Cal Poly came out on top of a battle of the Big West unbeatens, outlasting Hawaii in 4 sets to move to 5-0. UC Riverside, UC Irvine and Long Beach State also collected Saturday victories.
Hawaii earned its 4th in in a row and its 2nd consecutive sweep with a 3-0 victory over UC Riverside in Honolulu Saturday evening. The Rainbow Wahine outperformed the Highlanders in attack percentage (.184 to -.022) and served up 7 aces to record the one-sided win.
