The Cardinals extended their season with a 3-1 win over Loyola on Saturday in MIVA quarterfinal action.
After falling to UC-Irvine last week in their first loss of the season, ending a winning streak that lasted 400 days and 42 matches, #2 Ohio State was able to begin a new winning streak by taking down #10 Loyola-Chicago in a straight set sweep.
Now Long Beach State will wait to see if they become the #1 team in the country after Ohio State’s Saturday loss.
In spite of 26 kills from CSUN’s Dimitar Kalchev, Loyola was able to pull out a win on Friday in Long Beach.
