David Wieczorek and the United States finished with a win over Chile to place 5th at the 2018 Pan Am Cup.
In the seventh to 10th place Pan Am Cup classification matches, Chile and the United States won to set up Saturday’s contests, while Guatemala nailed down the 11th place position in the standings with their its win of the tournament.
As the United States looks to earn its sixth Pan Am Cup title, the team will look to 14 players from 10 universities to get the job done, including three from national runnerup UCLA.
Long Beach State leads the list as they try to defend their title with plenty of competition just in their league coming.

Player of the Year David Wieczorek from Pepperdine is among the 29 MPSF All-Academic honorees. Wieczorek and four other first-team MPSF selections: setter Micah Ma’a (UCLA), outside hitter Jack Wyett (USC), middle blocker Price Jarman (BYU) and setter Leo Durkin (BYU) also garnered All-Academic accolades.
