#17 King earned their first-ever Conference Carolinas tournament title and their first-ever appearance in the NCAA tournament with a straight-set victory over Barton Saturday night.
Both #17 King and (RV) Barton won in four sets in their respective Conference Carolinas semifinals match. They meet each other in Bristol, Tennessee on Saturday to decide the automatic bid to the NCAA I-II tournament.
Barton’s Angelos Mandilaris, Belmont Abbey College’s Rob Valentine and Limestone’s Francisco Salinger Cenzual were named Conference Carolinas’ Offensive Player, Defensive Player and Freshman of the Year respectively, while King’s Ryan Booher was tabbed as Coach of the Year.
King earned a victory to push them to the semifinals where they’ll host as Barton, Mount Olive & Belmont Abbey will join; Conference Carolinas Quarterfinals.
