Pac-12 Champion Stanford was awarded the No. 1-overall seed with three other league squads receiving a top-16 seeding, giving them the right to host the first and second rounds. The league earned eight berths for the fifth time in six years.
21st-ranked UCLA overcame 17th-ranked Washington on the road for the first time since 2003, ending a 9-match losing streak against the Huskies overall. 16th-ranked Oregon, RV Arizona, 2nd-ranked Stanford, Utah and 20th-ranked Washington State also earned Friday night Pac-12 wins.
UCLA put up 10 blocks and outhit Utah .257 to .133 to earn its first win of the Pac-12 season.
The six- match tournament brought a mixed bag of results, but Utah came away with the trophy posting a 3-0 record, all in sweeps.
