FORT WORTH, Texas – A total of 13 matches against 2017 NCAA tournament teams and 11 matches against top-50 RPI opponents, along with 15 home matches highlights the 2018 TCU women’s volleyball schedule, as announced by Director of Volleyball Jill Kramer on Tuesday.
“I am very happy with the way our schedule came together for the 2018 season,” Kramer said. “We will have the opportunity to host two home tournaments in the pre-season and play some solid teams on the road in front of great crowds to help prepare us for Big 12 conference play.
“Our team has worked very hard this spring and made a lot of improvements. We are looking forward to our journey throughout the fall season.”
For the fourth straight season, the Horned Frogs will open the season at home by hosting UAB, Green Bay and SIUE from Aug. 24-25 in the Cowtown Classic. TCU will also welcome North Dakota on Sunday, Aug. 26 for a nonconference showdown with all four matches from the opening weekend being played in The Rickel.
The last day of August along with the first few days of September will begin on the road, as the team will get its first road matches of the season at Colorado State to face the Rams along with Florida State and Cincinnati from Aug. 31-Sept. 2 in Fort Collins, Colo. Before hitting the road for another tournament, the Frogs will return to the friendly confines of The Rickel to welcome SMU, Louisiana and Montana State for Fight in the Fort from Sept. 6-8.
Tournament and nonconference action for the 2018 season will conclude with a weekend in Conway, S.C., as the Frogs travel to face Coastal Carolina and College of Charleston from Sept. 14-15.
Big 12 action will kick-off at home as TCU welcomes Oklahoma on Wednesday, Oct. 19, before hitting the road for the final two matches in the month. The Frogs will first travel to Lawrence, Kan., to take on the Jayhawks on Saturday, Sept. 22, before receiving their first bye of the season and then heading to Manhattan, Kan., to face the Wildcats on Saturday, Sept. 29.
The month of October will feature four home matches and four road matches starting with a Wednesday, Oct. 3 showdown with reigning Big 12 Champion Texas. The team will then welcome Texas Tech on Saturday, Oct. 6 before heading out on the road for two straight matches against Baylor (Oct. 10) and Iowa State (Oct. 13).
A two-match home stand in the middle of October begins with West Virginia on Thursday, Oct. 18, followed by Baylor on Wednesday, Oct. 24. For the second straight month, TCU will hit the road to cap the month as they make quick drives to Lubbock, Texas to face the Red Raiders on Saturday, Oct. 27, before traveling to Austin, Texas to take on the Longhorns on Wednesday, Oct. 31.
A return to the Rickel to host Iowa State will kick-off the final month of the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 3 and then the Frogs will take to the road for the last time. After another bye, the team will head to Norman, Okla., to take on the Sooners on Friday, Nov. 9 and will then travel to Morgantown, W. Va., to face the Mountaineers on Wednesday, Nov. 14. The final two matches of the regular season will be spent at home as TCU welcomes Kansas on Saturday, Nov. 17, and Kansas State on Wednesday, Nov. 21.
Season tickets for the TCU volleyball season will go on sale Friday, June 1. Adult season tickets are $75, youth season tickets are $50 and a Family 4-pack of season tickets can be purchased for $240. Single game tickets can be bought starting Monday, July 30, with fans able to purchase adult tickets for $10, youth tickets for $5 and $3 tickets for groups of 20 or more.
