TCU beach volleyball head coach Hector Gutierrez announced the signing of two recruits in Hannah Rogers and Jordan Westendorff to National Letters of Intent on Thursday as the duo become the first two members of the 2017 class.
“I am very excited about my first signing class here at TCU and this group of players we are bringing in,” Gutierrez said. “Hannah and Jordan have been exposed to high-level volleyball throughout their entire careers and the experience on the beach volleyball court that these two bring will only make the program better. We are looking forward to having them join us at TCU and seeing their growth in the sport over the next four years.”
Hannah Rogers – Santa Ynez, Calif.
High School/Juniors:
Letterwinner at Santa Ynez High School … helped the indoor volleyball team at Santa Ynez win the Los Padres League and advance to the Division 6 semifinals of the CIF-Southern Section playoffs and play in the CIF State tournament during 2016 … a AAA rated player in the California Beach Volleyball Association (CBVA) … finished second at the CBVA Youth Tournament in August 2016 with partner Audrey Baldwin … placed second at the 2016 CBVA tournament in Rosecrans and then followed that up by winning the 2016 CBVA tournament in Santa Barbara with partner Jessyca Beksa … finished first or second in four CBVA tournaments between 2015 and 2016 in the 18U division … daughter of Melissa and Todd Rogers … Todd won the gold medal in beach volleyball at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing

“Hannah has grown up around beach volleyball her whole life so she already has a good knowledge of the game. Hannah is going to be a great asset for our program and she is excited to improve her skills and push her new team to achieve new goals. I can’t wait to have her on the court.”
Jordan Westendorff – Dallas, Texas
High School/Juniors:
Letterwinner at Highland Park High School and played at Excel Volleyball Club … named in “Best Players in Beach Volleyball of AAU” … qualified for nationals in 2013 and 2014 in beach and indoor volleyball … team captain in 2013 and 2014 … District 10-6A First Team All-District … garnered District 10-6A MVP honors in 2015 after recording 352 kills during the season … named to the All-Area Second Team, All-State Team and a Texas All-Star … also named to the Academic All-District for 10-6A … finished fifth at the 2014 USA Volleyball Junior Beach Tour stop in Dallas with partner Alyson MacGilvary … placed ninth in two tournaments in 2016 with partners Jennifer Boldenow and Katherine Stephanian
Gutierrez on Westendorff:
“Jordan’s experience not only in indoor volleyball but also on the beach court will only enhance our roster. Jordan has been part of the growth of beach volleyball in the state of Texas and has competed in numerous national tournaments throughout the country the last four years. Having a Texas native on the roster will continue to help the sport grow in popularity not only in the DFW area, but also throughout the state. We look to her contributions in the coming years.”
