The Big Ten Conference announced its television slate for the upcoming 2017 season, including matches airing on the Big Ten Network and on the ESPN family of networks. Thirty six matches will take to the small screen, including two on ESPN and three on ESPNU. The rest of the slate will be broadcast live on BTN including 10 doubleheaders.
Big Ten volleyball will make its debut on Sept. 8 as UCLA takes on Nebraska at 9 p.m. ET. The league’s first ESPN matches will be a doubleheader on Sept. 24 as Michigan State travels to Minnesota and Michigan takes on Wisconsin. Other ESPN broadcasts include the Oct. 18 rivalry match between Michigan and Michigan State, Michigan at Ohio State on Oct. 22 and Nebraska at Michigan on Oct. 29. The 31-match BTN slate, including four wildcard matches, which will be announced at a later date.
No. 4 Minnesota and No. 5 Nebraska are set for seven appearances each, while No. 6 Penn State, No. 7 Wisconsin, No. 16 Michigan and No. 25 Purdue check in with six apiece. No. 17 Michigan State and No. 21 Ohio State will make five appearances. All 14 of the Big Ten teams will make it on TV at least twice.
