Former UC Irvine standout Victoria Dennis has signed her first professional contract to play for San Martin de Porres in Peru. The move comes in spite of rumors that she would take a 5th year to transfer and play a season of collegiate beach volleyball.

Dennis led UCI last season with 397 kills in 114 sets, hitting .248 and a pace of 3.61 kills/set. That ranked her 106th nationally and 2nd in the Big West for total kills over the course of the season.

The 6’3″ outside hitter, originally from La Verne, California, played her prep volleyball at Bonita High School and Club West. In 2014, she was a member of the 2015 USA Volleyball Beach High Performance Elite Under-23 Team. During her career, she played at some non-NCAA beach tournaments, but Irvine doesn’t sponsor a varsity version of the sport.
